Chapter 9: Protection from Temptation
Experiencing Prayer with Jesus
Closeness to the Father in prayer was the key to keeping Jesus from temptation, and this can be our experience as well.
Jesus taught his disciples that they "always ought to pray and not lose heart" (Luke 18:1).
Temptation and testing awaited all the disciples, and Jesus knew that only by watching and praying could they avoid spiritual disaster.
Never forget that God will also be faithful to come to your life as you seek after Him in prayer, and don't lose heart.
Praying to be protected from temptation is not for just when you are struggling, but should also be prayed for i advance.
Jesus instructed and encouraged all His disciples to pray for the Father's protection.
"Pray that you may not enter into temptation" (Luke 22:40).
